Bart From New Orleans big brass to death metal...this ska album has it all. It all makes sense and blends together so well. I absolutely loved this band's last album, and this is better across all metrics. Absolutely going to be near the top of any "Best of 2023" list for me. Favorite track: Sunflower.

Vidalia 02:32
We’re waiting on ourselves to bloom And finding that there’s no room but these Insecurities will rot with all our worries, so what And I hear that old bell ring Come so far to see In the waiting room while the future’s beaming Filling up my eyes
2.
Longshot 03:39
One day you’re on the upswing In turn it’s really nothing Behind the curtain of a purgatory mind And a world that’s just leaving us all behind On a pale horse outrunning the clock In this beaten path we run we’ll never stop One day I’m beat down, one day I’m rising up And I’m hoping that what’s left will fill our cup We’ll start today, as I feel you slip away Won’t be left wondering And I hear that old bell ring, it’s a longshot Come so far to see it’s a longshot In the waiting room just plotting our demise While the future’s beaming filling up my eyes Is there something left to stall the Patience of a fly on the wall Racing through a ride That keeps coming unhinged While the fire’s burning every single bridge I’m climbing on this carousel Spinning through these thoughts I know too well While on one hand I’m preparing for the end Still I’m praying that the wounds I made will mend We’ll start today, as I feel you slip away Won’t be left wondering And I hear that old bell ring, it’s a longshot Come so far to see it’s a longshot In the waiting room just plotting our demise While the future’s beaming filling up my eyes I know we can’t cross it We had it, and we lost it

Walking on air, but it’s getting thin is Complacency so permanent Leaving my well wishes by the stairs Motivation so hard to find Your sympathy’s no friend of mine Over now but was it ever there My veins are running empty, but the emptiness feels right Sunken faces staring through the glass, not meant to last This constant headache, constant fear, constants ringing out from year to year All as we wore clothes not made to weather Creature comforts of my time all paved the way to leave me blind Remnants of the era all taste bitter No perfect swan song, no defiance Nothing left that I can say No perfect swan song, no defiance Lay me down and turn the page My veins are running empty, but the emptiness feels right Sunken faces staring through the glass, not meant to last I’m letting go

Every day you’re afraid of nothing Following the way the wind blows On this path of most resistance Far too kind to these xenophobes Soon we’ll wrap this up And it eats the world As we come unfurled And it eats the world Coming back again And it eats the world As we come unfurled And it eats the heart from your chest Don’t watch while it eats the world

Hurricane 03:08
Summers’ bringing that cold feeling Constant ringing Heads in the clouds, something else amiss Now decaying, let’s get it started Can’t take the first swing Lost my hand in a pinky promise It’s been a hard week, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep and I got bricks tied to my feet, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep and I Have I lost all meaning, is there doubt Summer’s bringing hurricanes It’s been a hard year, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep I got bricks tied to my feet, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep and I It’s been a hard life, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep I got bricks tied to my feet, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep and I A locomotive losing steam Begin and ending, lost in the pages of a storybook dream It’s been a hard year, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep and I got bricks tied to my feet, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep and I It’s been a hard life, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep I got bricks tied to my feet, can’t tell if this is more or less sleep and I It’s been a hard week

Don’t forget to take this with you when you go Cutting ties before Ties that binded our way Stretching thin before Now there’s nothing left to say Regret has been left on display All that’s left is leaving your own way Your heart of hate, well I can’t relate Gaslight and bait, well I can’t relate Your presence is too much to take I can’t relate, I can’t relate Cutting ties before Ties that binded our way Justify my concern, caverns of void remiss Stretching thin before Now there’s nothing left to say Nevermind to unturn patterns of malignance Don’t forget to take this with you when you go Don’t forget to take this with you I’ll let you go

Running on crow’s feet A victim of self-scrutiny And time keeps ticking by Never know which face I’ll put on that day so I’ll grab one from the closet and go out today A doll dressed for display And I keep shoveling, and I keep shoveling But the damage is done Never felt worse than when I looked my best I’ve missed out on 100 years of beauty rest But time’s still ticking by Unexpected architect, always rebuilding The scenes in my head they are always unyielding And it’s never “one size fits all” And I keep shoveling, and I keep shoveling But the damage is done Why don’t you speak for yourself Don’t you speak for yourself?
8.
This old argument, this same old fatigue I’ve been stumbling, wishing my way through these weeks This old apartment, this same old belief I’ve been hoping and wishing you well A caricature so benign I’m feeding you patience while you feed me lines Tomorrow’s ahead standing tall We’re long in the tooth but we’re short in our crawl Just one more hour, then just one more week Silence so loud that I can’t get to sleep The train rattles my bed and it rattles my brain My intentions are pure but I feel so deranged Watching, empty, pendulum swings We’re all moving underground And nobody turns around Feet on the ground and I’m feeling each day I repeat, I repeat, I repeat So steel yourself for the fall, with our backs on the wall we know Nothing but nothing’s complete Bleed to meet demands, tethered to your precious grains of sand Pleading with a motionless heart, beating seamlessly If only going through motions I’ve learned Feeding endlessly these parts we’re forced to play Silent, binding We’re all moving underground And nobody turns around Feet on the ground and I’m feeling each day I repeat, I repeat, I repeat So steel yourself for the fall, with our backs on the wall we know Nothing but nothing’s complete With no will to break In chasms we bloom Harvest the moon
9.
Pinwheel 01:21
I know it’s not worthwhile, I know that you’re vile The only constant is the voice inside my head This wasting time, no friend of mine The only constant is the voice inside my head And I can tell by the way you smile You will torture me a while I’ve got nothing left to prove, yeah I’m gonna break on through
10.
Axe To Grind 00:56
Misdirected hate to aid, abet you for a day Disregard and sick contempt leaving others with nothing And now I’m giving up, can you feel it I guess you got a new axe to grind You know I can see it in your face, what’s on your mind Burrowed down again and drained to the core Baring teeth and the smile that you wore And now I’m giving up, can you feel it I guess you got a new axe to grind You know I can see it in your face, what’s on your mind You know I can see it in your face what's on your Face what’s on your mind
11.
Run Away 01:57
Take the hint, I’m not giving up I can’t operate this time One blink and barrel to demise As we let this push and pull connect our broken stride These cold hands giving their reprise You run away when things start to change So run away and I’ll rearrange Try to talk through pain and strife you abdicate alright It seems you function out of spite Try to talk through pain and strife you abdicate alright It seems you function out of spite You run away when things start to change So run away and I’ll rearrange You run away when things start to change So run away and I’ll rearrange
12.
Sunflower 03:33
Just wait to see what’s in store But I’ve heard that one before so I don’t see All the time I’ve wasted coming back to me These insecurities will rot with all the worries of what You never told me, just goes to show All the worry on your mind, on your mind can’t erase All the problems that you face, that you face so well We’re waiting on ourselves to bloom And finding that there’s no room for treating yourself badly But the mirror’s laughing back at me These insecurities will rot with all the worries of what You never told me, just goes to show All the worry on your mind, on your mind can’t erase All the problems that you face, that you face so well And with my last reason to stay Stage dressing dropping in its wake Sunflower left to turn and face The burning end to a new day All the worry on your mind, on your mind can’t erase All the problems that you face, that you face so well That you face so well

Dyad 03:24
Each hit and ache, the ground it shakes Reality slipping Each push and pull I can’t seem full Barely gripping Silent, read between the lines and you'll find Curse the dyad we couldn’t find Breathing fumes, and checking in Hit the ground and back again List of dates pinned to the wall Wonder if they care at all Worse than you’re letting show More than we’ll ever know Worse than you’re letting show And I won’t stay silent Read between the lines and you'll find Curse the dyad we couldn’t find Back again it feels the same Back again it feels the same Looking back I won’t play this game And I won’t stay silent Read between the lines and you'll find Curse the dyad we couldn’t find
